How Junk Car Removal Works in Vancouver
Junk car removal in Vancouver works like this: you tell Jay about the vehicle, he gives you a quote based on what you describe, you agree on a pickup time, he verifies the vehicle and completes the paperwork, you are paid, and then he loads it and takes it for recycling.
Towing is free when it is part of the agreed quote. You deal with Jay from the first phone call to the moment the vehicle leaves.
Call or text Jay · 604-889-44701. Tell Jay about the vehicle
Have the year, make, model and Vancouver location ready. Jay will also ask whether it runs, whether the tires hold air, whether it rolls and steers, whether the brakes are seized and whether the keys are available.
Where the vehicle sits matters as much as what it is. A car in a Kitsilano back lane, a stall on level three of a Downtown parkade and a driveway in Dunbar are three different jobs.
2. Receive a quote
Jay quotes on the information you give him. An accurate description is what keeps the number stable. If you are unsure how to describe something, send photos by text.
3. Choose a pickup time
Same-day or next-day pickup may be available depending on Jay's route, schedule, the vehicle and the access. He will tell you honestly what he can reach and when.
4. Meet Jay at the vehicle
Bring valid photo identification and the vehicle registration when you have it. Have belongings out and licence plates off before he arrives.
5. Verification and paperwork
Jay confirms the vehicle matches the description, checks identification and completes the release paperwork so the vehicle stops being your responsibility.
6. You are paid before loading
Payment happens after the paperwork and before the vehicle goes on the deck. Nothing is loaded first and settled afterwards.
7. Loading and recycling
The vehicle is winched onto the flatbed and taken to an automotive recycling facility. Most straightforward pickups take roughly 15 to 30 minutes after Jay arrives; difficult access or a seized vehicle takes longer.
What could change the plan?
A quote or removal plan may need to be reviewed before loading when the vehicle is not what was described, major parts such as the engine, transmission, wheels or catalytic converter are missing, or the access turns out to be different in person.
That review happens before anything is loaded, in front of you. Jay does not load a vehicle and then renegotiate.
A real Vancouver example
A Mount Pleasant customer called about a sedan whose transmission had failed on the way home. Jay quoted it on the phone, met her in the back lane the next morning, checked the registration, paid her at the car and had it on the deck within about fifteen minutes.

Questions people ask about this
How do I get rid of a junk car in Vancouver?
Contact Jay with the vehicle's year, make, model, condition and location. Jay will ask about the keys, tires, brakes and access, provide a quote and arrange pickup. On pickup day, Jay checks the vehicle, completes the paperwork, pays you and loads it for recycling.
Is junk car towing free in Vancouver?
Towing is free when it is included in Jay's agreed quote. The vehicle's location, completeness and access must be described accurately. Missing major parts or unexpected recovery problems should be discussed before pickup.
Will the price change when Jay arrives?
The quote should remain the same when the vehicle and access match the description. A quote may need to be reviewed before loading if major parts are missing, the vehicle is different from what was described or unexpected access problems are discovered.
How quickly can my car be picked up?
Same-day or next-day pickup may be available, but it depends on Jay's route, schedule, vehicle condition and location. Nothing is guaranteed until Jay confirms a time with you.
When will I be paid?
Payment is made after Jay verifies the vehicle and completes the paperwork, before the vehicle is loaded and taken away.
