Junk Car Removal in South Vancouver
Jay's Junk Car Towing removes junk, scrap and non-running vehicles across South Vancouver. Call or text 604-889-4470 with the vehicle details and where it is parked and you will get a quote and a pickup plan.
South Vancouver is the part of the city where I most often find a second or third vehicle on a property: something parked beside the house, under a carport or at the back of a long driveway that stopped being used a while ago. Those removals are usually the simplest jobs in the city, as long as I know what is in front of the car.

Jay's answer
What if the car is blocked in by other vehicles?
That is the most common hold-up on this side of the city. A flatbed needs clear space ahead of or behind the car to tilt the deck and winch it on. If the vehicle is at the back of a driveway with two working cars in front of it, arrange to have those moved for the pickup window and the job goes from awkward to easy.
Driveways, carports and long side yards
Much of South Vancouver has off-street parking, which usually works in your favour. There is no permit zone to plan around and no traffic lane to block. The question becomes what is between the vehicle and the street.
Tell me how far back the car sits, what the surface is, whether a carport roof or a low garage opening limits the height, and whether anything else is parked in the way. A car at the end of a forty foot driveway with a working vehicle in front of it is a different job from the same car sitting at the curb.
Vehicles that stopped being driven
Many of these calls are not about a breakdown at all. The vehicle was replaced, the person who drove it stopped driving, insurance lapsed, and it has been sitting since. It might even run.
A running vehicle can be worth more, but that is not automatic. Condition, completeness, make, model and demand all matter. What I can tell you on the phone is what the quote is based on, and I will tell you plainly if I think the vehicle is worth more to you than it is worth to me.
Getting to South Vancouver properties
Marine Drive, Knight Street, Fraser Street, Main Street and 49th Avenue are the routes I use to reach most of these pickups, and bridge and truck routes along the Fraser River side affect timing more than they affect the job itself.
What that means for you is practical: if you need a specific window, say so when you call. Scheduling around traffic on the main routes is easier when it is planned rather than squeezed in.
More than one vehicle on the property
It is not unusual here for a property to have two vehicles that both need to go, or a vehicle plus a set of parts, wheels or a spare engine. Mention that on the first call. Multiple vehicles can often be handled in a planned sequence, and knowing in advance is what makes that possible.
What the vehicle is worth
There is no single price for a junk car. The quote comes from the year, make and model, what is wrong with it, whether the vehicle is complete, whether major parts such as the engine, transmission, wheels and catalytic converter are still on it, whether it rolls and steers, whether the keys are available, and what the removal itself takes.
For a vehicle that has simply stopped being used rather than failed, completeness is usually the biggest factor. All four wheels present, the engine and transmission still in it, the catalytic converter still fitted and a body that has not been stripped will all show up in the quote.

The useful details in South Vancouver are the length of the driveway, the surface, whether a carport or garage limits the height, what else is parked around it, and whether the lane behind the property is an option. A couple of photos by text answers all of it.

Questions from South Vancouver
Can you remove a car from a driveway or carport in South Vancouver?
Yes. Most South Vancouver pickups are off-street. Tell Jay how far back the vehicle sits, whether a carport or garage roof limits the height and whether anything is parked in front of it, so the right approach can be planned.
The car still runs. Is it worth more?
Sometimes. A running vehicle may carry more parts or resale value, but the year, make, model, condition and completeness all matter too. Running on its own does not guarantee a higher quote.
Can you take two vehicles from the same property?
Often yes, with planning. Mention both vehicles on the first call so the pickup can be sequenced properly rather than sorted out on the day.
Do I need to be there when the truck arrives?
Someone with the authority to release the vehicle needs to be there so identification and paperwork can be handled and payment can be made before loading. If that will be a different person than the one who calls, say so when the pickup is booked.
Which South Vancouver neighbourhoods do you cover?
Sunset, Marpole, Killarney, Victoria-Fraserview, Champlain Heights, the South Marine area and, depending on the block, Oakridge.

In short
South Vancouver removals are usually about access on the property rather than access on the street. Clear the path, know what is in the way, and the pickup is short.
