What access looks like around the city

Downtown Vancouver and the West End

Almost everything here is parkade or permit parking. Entrance height, interior height, the level the vehicle is on and the route to street level all have to be confirmed before a removal is booked. Loading at the curb usually needs a time the building and the traffic will both allow.

Kitsilano, Point Grey and Dunbar

Lane access is common and often better than the street. Lanes are narrow, so overhanging carports, fences and parked vehicles matter. Older detached garages sometimes need the car pulled out before it can be loaded.

Mount Pleasant, Commercial Drive and East Vancouver

Dense street parking with permit zones and busy arterials. Vehicles are frequently boxed in, and moving one neighbouring car for twenty minutes can be what makes the pickup work.

Hastings-Sunrise and Renfrew

A mix of lanes, driveways and street parking, plus long-parked project vehicles that have not moved in years. Seized brakes and flat tires are the norm rather than the exception.

Kerrisdale, Shaughnessy and Oakridge

Longer driveways and softer surfaces. Tell Jay what the vehicle is sitting on — pavers, fresh asphalt or grass — so a seized car can be pulled without marking it.

Marpole, South Vancouver and Champlain Heights

Plenty of lane pickups and older low-rise buildings with tight surface lots. Positioning space is usually the limiting factor, not the vehicle.

Wherever the vehicle sits, the same questions decide the job: does it roll, does it steer, do the tires hold air, are the keys available, and is there room to position a flatbed. Answer those on the phone and the pickup is usually simple.

Questions about coverage

What Vancouver neighbourhoods do you serve?

Jay provides pickup throughout the City of Vancouver, including Downtown, the West End, Kitsilano, Mount Pleasant, East Vancouver, Commercial Drive, Hastings-Sunrise, Renfrew, Kerrisdale, Dunbar, Marpole, Oakridge, South Vancouver and nearby Vancouver neighbourhoods.

Can you remove a junk car from street parking in Vancouver?

Often, yes, provided the vehicle can legally be released and there is enough room to load it safely. Tell Jay about traffic, parking restrictions, bike lanes, construction or limited truck access.

Can you remove a car from an underground parkade?

Possibly. Parkade removals depend on height clearance, the vehicle's condition and whether it can be moved to a suitable loading area. Jay must review the details and photos before confirming the removal.

How quickly can my car be picked up?

Same-day or next-day pickup may be available, but it depends on Jay's route, schedule, vehicle condition and location. Nothing is guaranteed until Jay confirms a time with you.

In short

Jay works the City of Vancouver, and he knows which lanes a flatbed fits down and which buildings need notice first.
